Do you know someone who loves mathematics, always hungry to explore deep ideas?
Do you know someone who wants to heal from earlier negative experiences with mathematics? Are you looking for ways to ignite enthusiasm for mathematics in yourself, your children, or your students? Jason leads mathematical learning experiences for individuals and small groups. |
Jason has curated a collection of rich mathematical tasks that invite creativity, curiosity, and a sense of play.
His exploratory instructional style makes it easy for every participant to get started and feel successful (the puzzles have a low threshold). At the same time, the tasks and puzzles provide opportunities for richness, depth, and discovery (the puzzles have a high ceiling). The goal is for every participant to find a place of productive struggle: that feeling of being pleasantly challenged, without becoming overwhelmed. Everyone can experience the joy of mathematical exploration and discovery! |

Mathematics Resources for Teachers

Jason is the author of the Arithmetiquities, a mathematical fantasy adventure in which a quirky band of heroes undertakes a quest to recover a collection of powerful mathemagical artifacts.
The twist is that this tale unfolds through a sequence of mathematical story problems! Each chapter in the story is a puzzling "problem of the week", and the 36 serialized chapters weave the story over the span an entire school year.

I'm always looking forward to the next chapter. Even though it's challenging, it makes me think outside the box. |
